If I had to pick my favourite outfit of the last few months, it would be this one…
The halter-neck, the ring detail on the décolleté, the fact that it is versatile and can be dressed up or down for any occasion, makes it my go-to dress.
It might seem silly but I always get excited when I opt to wear this dress; not least because it’s forgiving (I can eat as much as I want!) and elegant but because sometimes, the anticipation of good style just helps you get up in the morning.
Not only do I like to wear things that bring me absolute pleasure, I prefer pieces that fall in line with whatever my silhouette is doing at the time – God knows it’s got a mind of it’s own – and not the other way around. Seriously, if this dress could talk, it would beg me to wear something else.
When I was fifteen years-old, my best friend and I were sporting anklets and feeling rather cool about it, when an older man approached us and told us only whores wore anklets! Sure, we were taken aback, but we were just pleasantly surprised that – for once – it wasn’t some weirdo trying to show us his willy. I’ve worn one out of sheer defiance every chance I get. I pity the fool who tries to define me!
